Back from the first Belgian Blogging Conference

Interesting day today at the CIVA in Brussels where the first Belgian blogging conference was held. The morning program was for media, the afternoon for companies. Guillaume from Blogging Planet was also there as a panel member together with Jacques Froissant, CEO of Altaïde.

We had some very "to the point" questions on the changing role of the PR professional and his/her relation with blogging in the corporate context. Of course also a good deal of basic why and how questions which again shows us that we need to continue to talk about and explain the blogosphere and its technologies like RSS...

A couple of press interviews were done afterwards and I had a very interesting conversation with someone from Radio Nostalgie who are turning to podcasts to create a kind of "sounds from Belgium" series...

I also met up with Peter Forret who is one of the organisers of the Brussels Bloggers Dinner. I registered to go but looking at the potential monstrous traffic disruption in and around Brussels tomorrow (because of a general strike) I don't think I will risk leaving my cozy Pajottenland...

Hi Philippe,
Just a sign to thank you for the very transparent and instuctive answers you've made about evolution of PR's mission and work. As journalist since 16 year now, I think that our business approach will change too and I predict that, the best journalists will shortly have a second life thanks to the blogging.... maybe a first real life for some of them !

Hi Fréderic, many thanks for your candid feedback. This is important to me. I hope and think we'll all get "a second life", both journalists and PR people, and evolve for the better of open communications.

Thanks again for this wonderfull case study at IBM. I've been amazed how far you are in the modern way to communicate informations inside the enterprise and how transparent it is.

i'll probably blog about it soon
